There is an old Buddhist proverb which says “when the student is ready, the teacher will appear”. That teacher may be in the form of a child, a friend, an event, an object (like a book, a program or practice you resonate with-as in yoga), or in the form of a more traditional teacher. Every event, every thought and every experience can serve to deepen confusion and unconsciousness causing more suffering, or it can serve as a teacher, bringing insight, clarity and understanding to life. It largely depends on what you are ready for. When you are open to what life brings, and align with awareness and freedom, your teachers are there. When you choose to align with clarity and happiness, doors begin to open and opportunities present themselves in a variety of forms. Yoga provides a brilliant set of instructions on how to open to the teachings life offers everyday.

The practices of yoga have been called both a science and a spiritual practice. Both are true. Yoga is not a religion but through the practices of yoga a person can get more deeply in touch with the very core of their being, which can make religion and virtually every other aspect of life more enjoyable and more meaningful. Yoga helps us recognize and remove the source of our unhappiness, revealing the richness; the fullness of breath and BEING, which is ever present. When we are not lost in words, ideas, or fears there is an aliveness that wants for nothing: there lies pure, causelss joy.

Yoga works - not just for an elite group of young, healthy, strong, flexible vegetarian-types but for everyone. People have expressed relief from grief, anxiety and angst, fears and phobias, insomnia and instability, stress, arthritis, digestive difficulties, and injuries. It is such a wholesome, comprehensive program for well being it is a wonder everyone is not practicing regularly. It is good for the body, mind, emotions and spirit. Yoga practices can strengthen the immune system, balance the hormones, improve digestion and elimination, and enhance overall strength and balance. Better yet is the inner peace and calm that develops over time and the way you feel when you rediscover your inherent joy and well-being.

The articles, merchandise and programs available on this site point toward the plethora of tools and techniques offered by the timeless teachings of yoga.
