“Love is always unconditional.”
Jenifer Ebel

Welcome!
Since 1993, the yoga studio was owned and operated by myself, Jenifer (O’Leary) Ebel. As of August 30, 2007, I have closed the studio. I will now be shifting my focus to retreats and workshops. This is a format I have always preferred as it gives us all a chance to enjoy the depth of the practices in ways that the hour-and-a-half/once-a-week format does not. As plans for retreats and workshops are set, they will be posted here on the site. If you would like to be included in my mail list for mailings on upcoming retreats, send an e-mail with your contact info (phone, e-mail, mailing address) to info@smilingyogi.com.

The practices of yoga have been called both a science and a spiritual practice. Both are true. Yoga is not a religion but through the practices of yoga a person can get more deeply in touch with the very core of their being, which can make religion more meaningful.

My favorite challenge as a yoga teacher has always been making yoga understandable and accessible to anyone interested in exploring it. I’ve worked with a plethora of body-types and a fantastic variety of lifestyles/professions including but certainly not limited to: teachers, students from grade school through college, professors from virtually every department at UWSP, dentists, surgeons, counselors, accountants, bankers, lawyers, law enforcement people, factory workers, road workers, hunters, sportsmen and women, clergy, computer programmers, musicians, beauticians... you get the idea.

Yoga works - not just for an elite group of young, healthy, strong, flexible vegetarian-types but for everyone. People have expressed relief from grief, anxiety and angst, fears and phobias, insomnia and instability, stress, arthritis, digestive difficulties, and injuries. It is such a wholesome, comprehensive program for well being its a wonder everyone is not practicing regularly. It is good for the body, mind, emotions and spirit. Yoga practices can strengthen the immune system, balance the hormones, improve digestion and elimination, and enhance overall strength and balance. Better yet is the inner peace and calm that develops over time and the way you feel when you rediscover your inherent joy and well-being.
